SEE THE IMPACT

Know that Care Connect is being used, not just purchased.

We don’t simply give your organisation access to Care Connect and leave you wondering whether your community is engaging with it. We provide an engagement overview following your free bespoke session, helping you see how residents and staff participated.

Depending on how your community joins, this can include:

  • Live attendance and individual registrations
  • Communal group participation
  • Recording engagement
  • Anonymous feedback from participants

Once you become a Care Connect partner, we continue to review engagement with you, helping you understand how Care Connect is being used and ensuring your package continues to reflect the needs of your community.

ONE PROGRAMME, THREE WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

1. TOGETHER

Communal Access: Bring residents together in a lounge, activity room or communal space and join Care Connect on a shared screen.

One connection can allow a whole group to participate together, with no need for every resident to have an email address or personal device.

2. INDEPENDENTLY

Individual Access: Residents and/or staff who have their own phone, tablet, computer and email can register and participate independently.

This gives people choice and allows them to practise even when they aren’t joining the communal session.

3. WITH SUPPORT

Supported Individual Access: Where someone would like to participate independently but needs a little help with technology, a family member, advocate or staff member can assist them to access Care Connect.

Your community doesn’t have to fit around the technology. Care Connect is designed to fit around your community.

Most enjoyable and informative Chi gong session you could ask for. Joanne has a warm and friendly manner and gently supports you through the practice.
Highly recommended

"Jo's knowledge is abundant, which she gives freely, lovingly and passionately. Her daily practice is the most beneficial and beautiful way to start the day, connecting with a community of people all supported and encouraged by Jo. Thank you "

Among the benefits of Qi Gong shown in a study conducted between 1993 and 2007 are:

Improved bone density
The gentle bending in the movements offers weight bearing that’s minimal enough to be safe but very effective.

Improved cardiopulmonary function

Participants showed a reduction in blood pressure and more relaxed breathing as they focused on the movements.

Reduced falls and better balance
Qi Gong involves lateral movements that help strengthen our core, which can help promote better balance. I
mprovements were also seen in strength and flexibility.

Reduced stress
Since Qi Gong focuses on relaxing the body and mind, it helps seniors to manage stress more effectively. This is especially important at a time in life when older adults deal with more loss and the potential for loneliness in their lives, and may also be dealing with chronic pain and illness.

Better sleep
Stress is often a root cause of insomnia, and because qigong focuses on relaxing the body, it can also help improve longer, more restful sleep.

Increases key neurotransmitters
Studies have shown that Qi Gong can potentially increase levels of certain beneficial neurotransmitters, which may help in the prevention of:

– Parkinson’s disease
– Alzheimer’s disease
– Chronic depression
– Insomnia
– Addiction issues
