These new classes are about body awareness, meridian stretches and self shiatsu points. Each week we will add to the sequence of stretches and self shiatsu so that you have a method of keeping the body healthy, emotionally and physically by understanding the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The term ‘meridian’ describes overall energy distribution system and helps us to understand how basic substances of the body (Energy, blood and body fluids) permeate the whole body. Simply put, a meridian is an ‘energy highway’ in the human body through which chi energy flows. Meridians exist in corresponding pairs and each meridian has many acupuncture/acupressure points along its path.

“Acupressure” is one of the latest buzz words in health and wellness. It’s easy with no needles. It’s been used for thousands of years to relieve pain, release stress, and treat a range of ailments, from stomach problems to headaches. It can lower blood pressure and boost the immune system. It can ease insomnia and reduce anxiety. The best part about acupressure is that it requires no fancy equipment. Only the power of your very own hands.

The class will run Thursday’s 1pm till 2pm in Greenside House, Cuffe Street following the 10.30-12.30 Health and Well Being Cooking class. Theres no need to book just drop in and build your toolkit of stretches and points to maintain and heal the body
